The Battle Chess game for 3DO Interactive Multiplayer is a chess game, doh, with slight twist which fighting pieces come to life and fight with each other in a medieval setting.
All rules are exactly the same as in chess, but the king cannot capture the king.
All actions take place in pseudo 3D with an isometric slope, and the zoom effect is also used.
There are total of 35 types of battle animations.
This game gave birth to many similar games, such as the Star Wars Chess game for the Sega Mega-CD. The game has a mode and 2D boards with clear figures, as well on it you can work out various combinations.
Fight against the artificial intelligence of the game console, or challenge a friend to battle.
If you are too lazy to play yourself, you can make the “Computer” (CPU) fight with itself, and watch the chess battle from the side.
The game has 9 difficulty levels.
