The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer is a fifth-generation home video game console released by the 3DO Company on October 4, 1993. It retailed for $699.99. It had a RISC CPU ARM60 at 12.5 MHz with 2MB of RAM and 1MB of VRAM.
Due to the unpopularity of the system and the cost, the emulation scene is almost non-existent. There are a couple of emulators available, but i only try phoenix project and 4do. Phoenix project has better compatibility but heavier while 4do is lighter but with some sort of audio issues. So if you have low end rig go with 4do but if you have not so end rig then go with phoenix.
About configuration, both are a bit pain to set up if compared to today standards.

On Android there is not much choice either, i can only find real3doplay, the android version from phoenix project, which have the same compatibility with its pc counterpart. Man.. this beast really need some love.
There will be lack of customization you will get from these emulator if compared with other emulators on different platforms like snes or psx. You wont find scaling, post processing, etc fancy, so yes, it will look ugly for modern standard. If you are not retro oldschool gamer, most likely playing 3do games will hurt your eyes pretty bad, i am not kidding :p
You can reduce the pain by playing it on phone since it use smaller screen so jagged and blurred image will be less noticeable :D
Here are list of files you need to play 3do on your laptop or android:
For PC
Phoenix (english patch included already)
For Android
For android you will need zarchiver and winrar for pc to extract the file(s).
Happy playing..
