Alone it the Dark is a cult game which is made originally for the PC, and later ported to the Panasonic 3DO game console.

The plot of the game develops in 1924, Jeremy Hartwood a famous actor and owner of the mansion Derceto (Derceto) located somewhere in Louisiana, committed suicide by hanging himself. His death didn’t surprise anyone, because he studied the ancient manuscripts stored in the extensive library of the mansion. The police did not investigate the case for long, and the local population soon forgot about the incident. 

If you play as a private detective, then you go in search of a piano for one antiquary. And if for a niece, then you are also looking for a piano, in which, in her opinion, is a secret box with an explanatory note. They still do not suspect that the house was built on a cave in which, in a tree, the corpse of the evil pirate Ezechiel Pregzt is hidden.
